KNIB 40th Mud Volleyball Event

Keep Northern Illinois Beautiful is pleased to announce that we will be hosting the 40th Mud Volleyball event at Riverside Park, 100 River Dr., Roscoe, Illinois on Saturday, August 7, 2021.

KNIB is honored to be able to take this event over as a fundraiser. The event starts at 8:00 am and runs until we have a winner.  The winning team will receive a trophy and the coveted golden ball.

WEBINAR: B2B Grant Program Overview by DCEO

Join the Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity (DCEO for a B2B webinar overview on Friday, August 13, 10am for an overview of the grant program and how to prepare for the application.

As part of Illinois' COVID-19 economic recovery program, DCEO launched the $250 million Back to Business (B2B) grant program to support the continued recovery of small businesses across Illinois. The first in a series of economic recovery programs by the administration, B2B will offer the hardest hit industries grants of $5K-$150K to help offset losses, bring back workers, and take continued steps to rebuild amid the fallout from the pandemic.
 
To reach the businesses most in need, DCEO will work alongside over 100 community navigators, 42 Small Business Development Centers (SBDCs) and other outreach partners who have relationships with their local business community. These partners stand ready to help small business prepare and apply for funding with 1-on-1, and multilingual assistance in every region of the state. While the State announced the program this week, we are providing businesses with application information early to provide them with a jumpstart in preparing before the application formally opens on August 18, 2021.

Hard Rock Casino Vendor Fair & Job Information Session

Hard Rock Casino Rockford to Host Vendor Fair and Job Information Session
 
Ahead of the opening of the temporary casino in Rockford later this fall, Hard Rock will be hosting several in-person job information sessions and vendor fairs on Friday, August 13th and Saturday, August 14th. The event will be held in downtown Rockford at The Nordlof Center from 8am to 2pm CST. All interested vendor and job candidates will be required to RSVP ahead of time at www.hardrockcasinorockford.com.  
 
“Our priority has always been to partner with local businesses and hire local employees to develop mutually beneficial and impactful relationships in the community,” said Jon Lucas, Chief Operating Officer of Hard Rock International. “This week’s events demonstrate our long-term commitment to Rockford, allowing us to show the community what the excitement is all about, why Hard Rock will be a great place to work and do business with, and how those interested can be a part of it. We couldn’t be more thrilled that this is happening right here in Rockford and we look forward to these great events later this weekend.”

Hard Rock will have several executives responsible for vendor and hiring operations on hand for media interviews on August 13th. Any local media interested in conducting interviews should plan to arrive 30 minutes prior to the morning or afternoon presentation on the 13th.
 
Please note: In adherence with the building restrictions, masks will be required, and Hard Rock will continue to follow state and local safety guidelines.

5K Fight Obesity, Walk with Me


6th annual 5K event by nonprofit organization, Faithful-2-Fitness. Event is non-competitive, for all ages and is family & kid friendly. Strollers and dogs are welcome Event starts outside Peak Sports Club, follows the Perrryville Bike Path and returns to Peak. You can walk or run it. WEBINAR: Tourism Attractions & Festivals Grant Program

A technical assistance webinar will be held on Wednesday, August 25, from 1 – 2 p.m. to explain application requirements, program eligibility and program guidelines.

Tourism and festival businesses and entities in Illinois can submit for grants of up to $1 Million that may be used to establish and enhance tourism attractions or festivals planned for this year or next. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until funds are depleted. Eligible applicants include museums, businesses, events, performances, and festivals. To maximize the impact of the program, DCEO will utilize ARPA federal recovery dollars to provide grants ranging from $10,000 to $1 Million and will require a local match. The goal of the program is to attract additional visitors and overnight stays that will bring foot traffic back in communities across Illinois.
