The media is invited to send reporters and cameras to help promote a Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony and Grand-Opening Celebration at the groundUP stores - located in the former North Park Rental building at 9624 N. 2nd Street in Machesney Park, Illinois - on Friday, April 29 at 10:00 AM.
Participants in the Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony will include:
- the groundUP stores President & cPs Sam Furman
- Village of Machesney Park Mayor Steve Johnson
- City of Loves Park Mayor Greg Jury
- The Parks Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Tonya Lamia
- 2022 Young at Heart Queen Madison Hawn
- Elected officials and senior staff from the Village of Machesney Park and City of Loves Park
- Board Members from The Parks Chamber of Commerce
As part of the Grand-Opening Celebration between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM, product vendors will be onsite with the latest in signs, parking lot products, and much more! Guests will enjoy complimentary donuts and coffee, lunch that includes freshly grilled beef frank hot dogs, other refreshments, and prize giveaway drawings for 18 individual prizes that total a $700 combined value. Four $50 gift certificates toward Cruise America RV Rentals will also be awarded, and Cruise America RV tours will be given upon request. At the event, guests can also nominate Not-for-Profit organizations to win a free “Parking Lot Upgrade” valued up to $500; three winners will be chosen at random from all entries received by Noon on May 23.
