Joseph V. Chiarelli to Present "State of the County"

TODAY at Forest Hills Country Club

The Media is invited to attend "State of the County," which is the second of ten events as part of The Parks Chamber Legislative Event Series.

The event will be held TODAY (Wednesday, March 16) at Forest Hills Country Club (5135 Forest Hills Road).

4:00 PM: Networking Begins
4:30 PM: Welcome by Tonya Lamia from The Parks Chamber
4:45 PM: “State of the County” by Winnebago County Board Chairman Joseph V. Chiarelli
5:15 PM: Networking Resumes

"The Parks Chamber Legislative Event Series provides opportunities for government leaders to share official 'State of' addresses that highlight current initiatives and successes," said The Parks Chamber Executive Director Tonya Lamia. "Our primary goal of the Series is to connect the local business community with legislative and government leaders so we can hear from them directly."

Today's event will also feature Informational Tables by federal, state, and local organizations that offer FREE and confidential services to businesses and entrepreneurs, including the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO), the Illinois Small Business Development Center (SBDC), The Workforce Connection, and the U.S. Commercial Service.

This ten-month event Series will be held on the third Wednesday of each month from February through November from 4:00-6:00 PM at Forest Hills Country Club. Each monthly event will feature the chef's selection of heavy hors d'oeuvres, and cash bars will be open for the duration of the events.

ABOUT CHAIRMAN CHIARELLI

Chairman Chiarelli was born and raised in Winnebago County. He is the son of a small business owner and spent more than 20 years working with his father at Vince the Tailor, where Joe learned about service to others and the importance of treating people with respect and honesty. As an Alderman, Joe was at the forefront of every major issue facing the City of Rockford since 2013. Being well respected among his colleagues, Joe was encouraged to run for Winnebago County Board Chairman and has served in that role since November of 2020. He lives in Rockford and has been married for 33 years to his wife Connie. Together, they have two adult children and a grandson.
